About us here at Academic Team Enterprises

Richard Carr - President Christopher Manker - Consultant
Chad Money - Question Writer Jonathan Manker - Question Writer

Rick Carr - President - I started Academic Team Enterprises as a hobby that has turned into much more. From 2003 to 2007 I coached the Trimble County High School Academic Team. In the first three years I was there we went from a 3-9 team and fifth in our seven team conference, to 12-0 and 4th in state in the All "A" Classic. What I introduced to this team was a sense of importance of what it was they were doing and the concept that if each student would put 100 percent effort into it, they could accomplish goals that were not within reach just a couple years before. Through a lot of hard work, including at least one instance of 3 practices and a match within 24 hours, we were able to achieve every goal we set out to achieve. Now that I am no longer in teaching/coaching, I have tried over the years to find my niche within the academic team community and I believe this is it. I want all users of this site to feel like they can e-mail me at any time with any question they have. If I don't feel I am the best person to answer your question, I have many friends that are still coaching at varying levels to whom I can turn .

Many of my fellow coaches that knew my team well, knew that we did a lot of fundraising and were very good at it. On this front I can say that it was one of my kids' parents that took the lead and helped us raise a lot of money. I could never thank her enough for the time and effort she put in. The methods for fundraising that she used varied greatly and I look forward to being able to pass these ideas onto each of you.

I hope to hear from coaches, parents, and players alike through our Contact Us link, even if it is just to provide feedback on the site as I would love to know what you think.
